4th of July on Hayden Lake, Idaho

This July I got to visit Idaho for my first time! Hayden Lake is a little community near the town of Coeur d’ALene on the Idaho/Washington border. Flying into Spokane, you can drive to Hayden Lake in about an hour and a half. Coeur d’Alene happened to be named the number 1 mountain town in America by the World Property Journal while I was there! I didn’t spend enough time there to decide if I agreed, but check it out.

The weekend of the 4th I joined my pals for a Lake House Extravaganza, which included boating, SUPing, fishing, long swims, and hikes into the neighboring national park. Siestas were necessary in the middle of the day, as temperatures rose into the 90’s. My favorite moments from the trip were during our sunset gatherings on the lawn, watching the sky turn pink behind the pines and drinking sweet summer wine. After dark, we’d spend every evening telling stories and making S’mores around the campfire. I don’t know if I’ve ever been to a place more summer-y than Hayden Lake.

I really can’t wait to check out more places in Idaho! Comment below if you know more fun places to explore :)
